Help us connect with customers, partners and stakeholders and develop strategies in our Life Sciences & Health Sector (http://ourfocus.npl.co.uk/life-sciences-and-health/).
The Life Sciences and Health industry is highly collaborative and we have strong connections with UK and international partners across government, industry, academia and the healthcare system. In line with the UK Government’s Industrial Strategy, NPL is helping the UK continue to be a world leader in translation life sciences research, accelerating access to new diagnosis and treatment techniques, and helping to support rapid adoption of advanced healthcare technologies across the country. We tackle some of the world’s biggest health challenges, from reducing drug attrition rates in drug development, to treating cancer and dementia, to creating new antibiotics.

Developing and maintaining these relationships you will also set strategic direction and generate opportunities to deliver impact in the sector and to collaborate with and deliver projects for our partners and customers.

You will formulate and lead strategic collaborations and key accounts, develop multimillion £ research proposals for grant applications and win commercial contracts. Part of a strong and talented strategy and BD team, you will lead work on various aspects of the sector across NPL’s £90m portfolio, becoming a recognised and respected face of NPL within the life sciences and health sector, attending critical industry meetings and workshops on behalf of the laboratory. You will become a trusted voice of the customer within NPL, ensuring scientists across the laboratory develop capability driven by future needs of the life sciences and health sector.

You will collaborate across a range of industrial and governmental organisations to develop new and exciting ideas and propositions. You will foster further collaborations with leading companies and universities, contributing to NPL’s regional growth strategy.
• You will have experience of developing bold, strategic ideas with a mix of senior industrial and governmental stakeholders and ideally have experience of working in the Life Sciences & Health sector.

• Inquisitive, confident and motivated to connect with and influence external partners at all levels. You will be collaborative, a strong communicator and able to build internal and external partnerships. Working towards key performance targets and managing key accounts, you know how to nurture relationships over time.

• While we do not expect an in-depth scientific knowledge, you must have a passion for science and innovation and be comfortable communicating technical concepts to a broad audience.
Join us and you’ll soon see how thought leadership and imagination is inspiring the next generation to greater things. It`s about challenging complexity and bringing clarity and building relationships that make a difference. We are bold and visionary; we believe that anything is possible at NPL.
